PODS

We are starting something new this year called POD Wednesday. Every second Wednesday, students get together in small groups with a teacher advisor. Groups will be made up of students from all grades.

For example, if students are in middle school, groups will be made up of students from grades 6-8. If you are in high school, groups will be made up of students from grades 9-12.

In these groups, students will:

•  get a chance to talk about school issues

•  have a teacher who is watching your grades and behaviour

•  work with the teacher to set goals for themself

•  work on developmental assets

•  discuss upcoming events

•  participate in Renaissance activities

Along with POD Wednesday, teachers will be touching base with students throughout the week to see if they can help in any way. This is a chance to talk to ask questions, get help if students need it, or tell the teacher advisor about something good that's happening.

Each month, the POD group will focus on a particular theme. For example, for the month of September, we will work on community support which will include getting ready for a participating in the Terry Fox Run and possibly the Queens County Fair.
