Attendance Policy
Attendance is directly related to student success or failure. At Cambridge-Narrows Community School we believe that regular attendance maximizes the learning potential of each student. Parents, students and teachers share the responsibility to work cooperatively to maintain a high standard of attendance.
As stated in the Education Act “It is the duty of a pupil to attend to assigned homework and attend school regularly and punctually.” 14(1)(c)(d)
If any student is absent, he/she is responsible for making arrangements with subject teachers to “catch up” on any work that is missed. If a student is absent on a particular day, a parent/guardian is asked to call the office.
If your child is planning to be out of school and wants supplemental work, give your child's classroom teacher one week's notice prior to leaving .
Students who are absent must provide a parent/guardian written excuse for their absence upon returning to school within three days. Students who are absent by reason of illness may be required to submit a medical excuse.
